Tweak Kodi to adjust TV to same as source

When viewing channels, generally speaking, most apps will upscale refresh rates to whatever the monitor is running at. Kodi has the ability to switch the screen to whatever the source refresh rate is upon starting of a stream for smoother playback e.g. 25 or 50fps UK and 30 or 60fps USA. Once this feature is turned on, you might notice the screen go blank for a second as it changes the tv refresh rate when you start a stream.

Starting at the main Kodi home screen, click on the settings cog at the top left.

Click on Player Settings, and at the bottom left, make sure the Settings are Standard or above.

Click on Adjust display refresh rate and change it from off to On start/stop

Make sure Sync playback to display is switched off.
